2003 Volkswagen Polo clicking noise on engine

my oil warning ligh keeps coming on but theres oil in it twice it has completley cut out on me and i cant start it breakdown jump started it but tested the battery and alternator and they were fine. A clicking noise has started but if you take it out of gear the noise goes i havent a clue what it is oil etc fine but i dont know whether i should still drive it can you help

you can check the oil pressure switch connection and that no oil is leaking through the switch,which could point to a faulty switch.

Clicking noise could be the hydraulic tappets , if not been done for a while it would be a good idea to get engine oil and filter changed , might help .
