2004 Vauxhall Zafira dash lights not working

I have just bought a 2004 Zafira. The dash lights are very dim or not working. I need new bulbs I think. Can anybody please tell me if this is a major job or can I do it myself. The cigar light does not work either. I would be grateful for some serious advice.

Could be a blown fuse or the dimmer switch / knob turned down too low.

excuse my ignorance but I know certain fuses work more that one thing. The dimmer is not controlling anything so I will try and locate the fuse. If anybody knows which one I would be very grateful.
