2004 Vauxhall Zafira ehgine lacks power

the spanner on the dash means your car has a fault, so the car needs to go on a diagnostic machine, this will tell the mechanic what needs replacing, probably a sensor, once it's fixed the flashing spanner/warning light should be reset

i have a vaux zafaria wl52 lyo..8 months ago the car lost power, the accelarator pedal was full down rev going but no speed, just wouldnt go over 30.turned engine off and on and it was fine.the car has not been used in 6 months just parked due to shorting out.solved problem and took car to sussex travelled 700 miles with no problem. 2 days ago i used the car twice but third time i had no acceleration again, pedal down but no power just wouldnt go over 30 again.turned off and on but didnt work this time.today got in car to have a look and drove about 100 metres no power and struggled to reach 20 and really struggled going up a slight hill.half way up white smoke billowed out of exhaust.pulled over and parked.someone said might be exhaust filter or on a something motion to stop car engine exploding.
