2006 Vauxhall Zafira egr valve

Car: Vauxhall Zafira
Year: 2006
Variant: 1.9cdti
Categories: Electrics, ECU, Warnings & Lights
Had egr valve replaced by vauxhall last march, and hey presto its gone again, 2 days after 12 months warranty on part run out (and after only doing less than 6k during last year)! What is life span of this valve and do i have to use dealership to get it replaced. Not happy bunny!

Could try cleaning it . Would have thought Vauxhall would have been sympathetic to a claim only two days out .Dont have to use dealership , but would do so if the will make a warranty claim on it , but if just bunged up and needing cleaned , probably reject it .

Hi, be tough with the dealer. It is seriously pathetic to withold free replacement of the EGR valve after only a few days out of warranty, as clearly that EGR valve was not fit for purpose lasting such a short time. I had the same issue and it was a few days out of warranty and told them to replace it free and I would take things directly to vauxhall if they didn't. It worked and they repalced it. If you had the job done and paid, I suggest writing directly to vauxhall to inform them of your dissatisfaction and disgust and to kindly request that they re-imburse the charges for your trouble.Ask them about customer loyalty and remind them about the competition that's out there vying for your money!
