2006 Vauxhall Zafira control indicator for exhaust

The control indicator for the exhaust came on 2 days ago on my zafira. I have booked the car in for review on saturday however in testing the car tonight i noticed a significant reduction in power in the lower gears.
Should i be driving? The light flashes occasionally but remains illuminated all the time.
Help?

If it is the Exhaust Emission Warning Light you are referring to , it could something simple i.e the egr valve ,lamba senor,maf sensor, or cat converter etc This is from manual ,
the owners manual(page 86 & 147), which says:-
Control indicator
for exhaust
Illuminates when the ignition is switched on
and during the start attempt. Goes off
shortly after the engine starts running.
If it illuminates while the engine is running,
it indicates a fault in the emission control
system. The permitted exhaust values may
be exceeded. Seek the immediate
assistance of a work shop.
They will find out what is causing fault when they scan it on Sat .

Cheers - just wondering whether it'd be safe to drive the car over the next couple of days or if I should leave it until Saturday?

It's hard to advise someone to ignore a warning light , especially as it seems to be getting worse , lack of power etc. Not knowing the cause you cant say for sure whether you will cause further damage.
