1999 Vauxhall Zafira stiff gearbox

ive had my zafira for over a year now and getting it into first gear has always been a little tricky. but over the last week ive only found first once and even the neutral slot is stiff going from side to side.
any ideas would be really appreciated....

Get gear linkage / cables checked

if you remove the gearstick gaiter/trim you will be able to see the where the gearstick moves,the grease normally dries out with constant use,give the moving parts a spray with silicone grease and run through the gears to free it off and worth checking the gear selector cable adjustment why your down there
