when you turn side lights on rear lights flash or fliker for few secounds then turn off and same when you press brakes

it sound`s like an earthing problem

check the wiring connector to rear bulb holders and check the bulb holders visually for signs of corrosion and make sure the rear lamps are not filled with water,check the earth for the rear lamps

Most times I've had that problem was due to earthing fault .
