2003 Vauxhall Zafira bad morning starter

having just bought the car we found that it is a poor morning starter. it has been back to main dealer had some pipes changed and new filter but no better. it fires at each attempt [usually 4] eventually spluttering on 3cyls then starting with afair amount of smoke. it starts well thereafter...any ideas

may have an injector fault
