1999 Vauxhall Zafira gearbox light on after few minutes driving

My zafira has trouble starting in 1st gear auto after a few miles driving. It seems to be starting in second like it would in winter mode however it is in summer mode. Also, the revs in 1st when it does work go over 3000 revs before it changes to 2nd.
Anyone got any clues?

You will need to get it scanned and see what shows.

get fault codes read as it could be a tcu software issue or a problem with the box itself,you can check the condition of auto fluid to make sure its correct level and there are no signs of metal filings in fluid or a burnt smell
