2002 Vauxhall Zafira keeps cutting out

have a slight problem with my zafira,it starts no problem but recently it keeps cutting out on me,took it to a garage and was put on the diagnostic machine but didnt show up anything..so they checked everything and found out that i needed a new EGR valve so that was replaced...then 7 weeks down the line it has happened yet again,been put back on the machine and no fault codes have shown up...they have stated that it could be a sensor that is not sending a signal from the accelarator but as i am female i think that they are trying to pull the wool over my eyes as they say it could cost over £1000 any suggestions would be gratefully received

Could be something simple and common like dirty throttle body just needing cleaned . This from another forum explains ,
The main reason for zafiras cutting out when braking is due to dirt in the throttle body remove the pipe from the thottle body to air cleaner hold the throttle butterfly open and clean with carb cleaner also when refitting the pipe make sure the pipe from the fuel tank vent is fitted correctly to the back of the throttle body.

hi, mine kept doing this a year ago..it never showed any codes for faults and eventually just died! my friend who owns a garage took a look at it and it was the ERG valve, he changes it and it was up and running again (part cost £80) but be aware this is a common problem with zafira's and mine need changing again already. It judders when your driving and when you put your clutch in to stop it cuts out. i know it was a while ago when you posted your question and i hope you had it sorted and fixed.
