my car is 2003 zafira 2.0dti with y20dth engine.
i ave loss of power at about 3000rpm but not all the time and sservice light comes on. sumtimes it goes straight off again and then drives normal, sumtimes however i ave 2 pull over, switch engine off then restart, this cures prob till the next time.
i ave had it on dianostic and it pointed 2 glow plug relay which i changed. i ave also replaced air flow meter, egr valve, all filters, put a fuel additive in2 tank and still no diff. i ave also changed the engine, can anybody help me cos no fault codes are being stored

check all the vacuum pipes to egr valve,throttle housing,swirl flaps and turbo waste gate,make sure they are all secure and they are not damaged or worn through,also check the inlet and egr are not carboned up

I have the same problem with my Zafira dti and have changed the glow plugs (another thread suggested it) and tried additives in the fuel to clean the engine.
Can anyone with a similar problem tell me if Simons solution worked and if so how easy is it to check and clean these things - how do I identify them for a start...
I am wary of going to a garage for a "no fault code" problem as it will cost a bomb and simply be a series of changing bits until eventually a solution is found.

Map (turbo boost pressure sensor) sensor located on top of the air intake manifold under the plastic wiring loom right hand side.or the Crank sensor.
