Check wiring / connection at injector .Also ,

Vauxhall Vectra/Zafira/Astra 1.8 16V ECU failure

ECU Type: Siemens Simtec 70 & 71
ECU location: Bolted to the side of the engine block
Price: £250
Delivery: Next working day
Rebuild time: 2 - 3 days

This ECU is a very common failure for all 1.8 Vauxhalls with this system type, the problem is caused by the location of the ECU - because it is bolted to the side of the engine block it cannot disipate any of its heat naturally combined with engine vibration and wild temperature differentials these ECU are failing in very large numbers. The fault usually displays itself as the warning light on the dash board with fault codes that blame the Aif Mas Meter, Air temperatire sensor and misfire on one cylinder but this is always caused by a faulty ECU.

Hi I have the same problem but the code came up as Po170 and now I'm told the ECU is nackered and the cost is running into 700-900 euro , if this modle gives so many problems ( siemens simtec 70&71) is there not a recall on them and if not why? nay help would be great. Razor
