2000 Vauxhall Zafira engine management light keeps coming on

hi there anybody have an idea of why my engine management light keeps coming on either when i run through water or even when i wash the car, it doesn't drop into slug mode but just stays on then the next day it's off any ideas.

At a guess...EGR valve problem... common problem. have it blanked off and ecu reset at vauxhall or someone equipped with correct vauxhall diagnostic gear..
