2003 Vauxhall Zafira too much oil being used

I have noticed that my car is using more oil as the months go on. my car covers over 130 a day to work and back which is mostly motorway miles. the car is serviced twice a year but I still seem to be using a lot of oil with no signs of oil on the engine or the floor. also the spanner light comes on at times is the two related and if so why.

common fault on ecotec engines / check gm post on net / poss valve stem seals / light may come on due to oil vapour sticking egr valve + hydraulic valve lifters not getting enough oil and causing lack of power
