2006 Vauxhall Zafira lack of power while driving

i was driving the car today around my local area in the snow and ice thith a outside temp of around -2.5 and was doing about 25 mph in third gear and the car lost all power! i had my foot flat to the floor and made no change i even changed down gear and it was still the same but after about 20 seconds the car returned to full performance. its done this twice now today and it seems to be when the car hasn't been used for about 30mins, no warning lights come on at all so i don't know where to start any ideas anyone? as anyone had this fault or anything simular? any advice greatfully received

i would say you are experiencing early stages of a diesel pump fault common on the 19cdti have it checked out asap or will be costly as new pumps cost around the £800 mark then labour on top visit your local diesel specialist they should be able to do routine checks for you and its piece of mind to hope this helps

A common problem with these can be the EGR valve, These tend to block up if you only carry out short journeys. Not to expensive!

could possibly be the air intake sensor malfunctioning.

Hi Mike6453, I was experiencing similar problems last week. Turned out I needed a new Mass Air Flow Sensor. Car drives like a rocket now and not usng as much fuel when I had the problem. Only advice is shop around for the part if that is what you need.
