my dad bought this car about 5 years ago and ran fine for about 2-3 years till it started cutting out while waiting at traffic lights. we done the obvious do a full service ( fuel filter, air filter, oil, filter, oil change) still no difference.
we have replaced :
4 refurbished good as new injectors
leak of pipes
suction control valve
whole ecu kit with fuse boxes from a 13 plate a17dtj ( dtr and dtj are same ecu just less horsepower )
camshaft position sensor
gutted dpf so its not blocked
whole fuel rail with sensor
- car cuts out at idle after about 30 seconds but if you rev the car and don't let the revs run low it will stay running
-checked the timing. fuel pump, crank and cam all lining up
- because we have replaced the injectors we get p1602 small injector learning but wont learn/fails when we try to learn on computer
-but when we reset the fuel pump we get p1602 fuel pump learning but the car wont cut out if it has this error
the car also wont cut out if the suction control valve is unplugged and just runs at about 1000 rpms
recently we have been doing wire testing and from the suction control valve to the ecu everything works as supposed to but from the fuel rail pressure sensor through the shield wire to the ecu ( pins 12 and 13 ) there is a short unsure if this is normal or not. checked the wire ( pin 12 ) and looks fine but while we were doing this we realised that it wont short until the ecu is plugged in also unsure if its supposed to do this.
-when the car cuts out we get p0001 fuel solenoid stuck
if anyone has any ideas of anything else we can try please give us a shout it would be greatly appreciated because if I cant fix it its going to have to got to scrap and I really really cant let it go
