2013 Vauxhall Zafira exhaust gas temperature to high, performance bank 1 sensor 2 . this comes on and the car comes to a stop, once code is erased it works fine for a short while ,i've had the sensors changed several times but it's still the same .

Warning light and message on dash saying engine overheat stop car immediately, the temperature gauge is through the roof , once code is instantly cleared everything resets and works fine for a uncertain period.

Sure it's not the engine overheating , often caused by a faulty / sticking thermostat , but other causes also . ? That or the temp gauge sender / transmitter are the most common cause for temp gauge to read that
