2006 Zafira B brake switch indication.

Hi, I have a 2006 Zafira B. When I switch on the car to position 2 there is no problem. If I press ther brake pedal for longer than two or three seconds and release then I get a brake switch faulty indication. Anything less that 2 or three seconds and I dont get that message. The effect is to kill any brake lights but the car is running fine but obviously unsafe in those conditions. Turning off the start keyswitch switch removes the indication until I press the brake again for more than 2 or 3 seconds. Can you help?

Check , replace your brake switch if faulty ?

I cant get at the thing at the moment until I can remove a panel which is doing my head in ;) I have opcom and was wondering if it was fixable with that but my attempts have failed, sadly.
