2011 Vauxhall Zafira zafira 1.9 petrol 2011.. oil increasing in level in sump. at least 4 inches above max. runs great starts great no loss of water , oil quite thin now

Oil level increased about 4 inches. Looks thin. Still black in colour. Starts great and runs great .85000 miles

That is a terrible amount of engine oil overfill, surprised engine is still running . Oil should not be black , needs draining urgently before bad engine damage and oil that is drained needs examined for signs of the cause . Next step depends on findings .
