When accelerating in any gear the engine makes a high whistling sound until the car travels at a constant speed. Vacuum cleaner type of sound.
Noise not present in neutral, only when under load. Have checked pipes and they look ok.
Any ideas on where to start?

Kind of sound you get from a leaking induction system turbo noise.
could be a hose or a hose clip.
