Automatic Transmission Issue

I'm facing a problem with my 2006 Zafira's automatic transmission I mean when i want to bring the Car from Neutral to drive mode It doesnt change straight away. I've to wait almost 5 to 10 seconds then It allows me to change, can some one please explain it to me what could be the issue

it could be a selector switch problem but I suspect more like a pressure issue inside the box.best advice would be take to a Vauxhall dealer or specialist.

To add to above ,a lot of boxes nowadays are " sealed for life " " maintenance free " but often a transmission fluid change can cure a multitude of sins .
