2001 Vauxhall Zafira not starting all lights on dash still on after key removed

Tried to start car and key just seemed to turn in ignition as if it not connecting to anything all dash light radio eat came on and stayed on even after removing the key

Sounds like a faulty ignition switch,
fits behind the ignition barrel,

All the plastics round the steering to come off to give acsess,
the switch is screwed to the key/barrel and a wire multiplg connector.
