Coil type light comes and stays on then in the mileage box it says inspect and a oblong sign cheers can you tell me what this means cheers

Coil light does two things,
tells you when the glow plugs are on for cold starting.
And more importantly it's also the engine management warning lamp'
so the engine computer has found a fault.
now you need to get it code read at a garage to find out the stored fault.
