Over revving wen idle

Hi my 03 plate vauxhall zafira when u start it it over revs on idle and ****s on 1halfks any ideas to what the problem could be ?

You dont say what engine in car . Usually caused by sticking air idle control valve needing replaced or cleaned , also throttle body needing cleaned .

Most engine issues and fault codes point to the engineloom connector. Its a small ECU on top right of engine iirc . it needs to be sent away. This gave me months of running issues. Like o2 sensor fault egr fault and cutting out. All false errors relating to the connector ecu
