Power steering rack?

So took my zafira to a local garage because my steering rack had a massive leak so paid to have the whole steering rack replaced with a brand new one but when I have pick the car up the steering seems quite stiff. more than before so is this normal or should I speak to the garage ?they did a full m.o.t on the car after he changed the rack and I looked with someone before hand and it was only the leak that was the fault and the power steering was a lot lighter before???? What could it be ?? Thanks

Take it back,it could be electrical connection.steering should be light.check they put enough fluid back in it.

As suggested by busted knuckles and dont be fobbed off by them possibly saying " it will ease off " as is often the case .

So spoke to the garage about my car and they said they would check the fluid levels?? Is this a fob off??

The fluid level may have dropped due to trapped air in the system,but this should have been taken into account before the vehicle was returned to you the customer. You would think that they would test drive it and ensure it was working correctly as it is a safety related item.
