Fan coming on quickly, and heater blowing hot and cold air

2008 Vauxhall Zafira 1.6
Car: Vauxhall Zafira
Year: 2008
Variant: 1.6
Categories: Running Rough, Starting & Power Loss
As I was changing a bulb the other day my wife decided to top up the water bottle/tank/vessel.

As I was driving that night I noticed that the fan, had come on, it's not something I'd heard before. I then tried the heater put it on hot and it was blowing hot and cold air.

I lifted the bonnet and noticed that I d only put the water bottle lid on loosely. It didn't look like I'd lost any water.

Tried the car again last night and the fan came on again quickly.

As there's no temperature guage on the dash I can't see if the engine I can't see if the engine is starting to overheat, but a light like the thermostat one came. The EML light isn't coming on.

You will have to top up coolant and run car to see if reaching operating temp or losing coolant .Heater blowing cold usually indicates air in system , could try bleeding .
