2004 Vauxhall Zafira car goes into limp mode

Hi, I have an 04 Zafira which after driving for about 10 mins goes into a type of limp mode, The revs drops to zero, Engine is loud and when stationary it stalls
2 lights on the dash come on and stay on, the control indicator for the engine and the electronically controlled engine cooling,
sometimes they go off after a while, it should go off by turning the engine off for a min but it doesn't

Best to get it scanned for fault codes.

as above could try cleaning EGR valve and pipe work

I have a 54 plate zafira 2.0 dti, and or six months i have had problems with light coming on and going into limp mode, turning engine off cures it normally, i had the egr vavle cleaned out back in january, but that didnt cure it, i havent been to worried as i dont use car much, butsuddenly now it is happening more often, went out last night with a code reader connected and it happend but did not put up any codeso i am at a loss as to what it actually causing the problem. is it the inlet manifold valves, or is it vac problems, is it the crank sensor, reading forums seems to pinpoint a few things. but why am i not getting a code shown?
I am a carer at home and can't afford to be paying vauxhall to investigate and would they have any clue as to what it is anyway?

failed vacuum pump or failed vaccuum control valve. could possibly be the MAP sensor located under the front wire harness. sits on the inlet manifold.
