2000 Vauxhall Zafira car cuts engine management light off and on

I drove my zafira for around 10 mins and then suddenly it cut out! I tried to start it but it just turned over but would not start. I noticed the engine management light did not come on with the other lights. I tried again but still no joy. I waited for around an hour and turned the ignition on and the engine managment light came on with the others and then the car did start.
Now i can't drive the can for more than 10 mins without it cutting out, and then i got to wait for around an hour until the engine management comes on with the ignition lights.
I have tried the pedal test but there are no flashing lights or readings.
could this be the immobilliser?

get a diegnostic on it if there is a fault (and there will be)it will be recorded on the ecu
