2003 Vauxhall Zafira losing power

Car: Vauxhall Zafira
Year: 2003
Variant: 1.6 petrol
Categories: Running Rough, Starting & Power Loss
the car had been making a noise for a few days as if the exhaust was loose or had a hole. Now its got hardly and power when pulling away even with foot to the floor and takes ages to get to 40. once at 40 it seems fine, but as soon as you hit a hill the power goes again. Had the egr valve blanked off last year after having it replaced several times so know its not that. ANyone got any clues as it what it could be??

could be a colapsed cat,put hand behind exhaust rev and see how much pressure comes out back(may be hot!)if not much pressure remove cat and check

anything is possible, you could have a major air leak, fuelling problem, PCV valve, anything really.
