hi. i had my air con regassed last week and yesterday put my air con on and nothing which suggests a leak..i took it back to the garage and they couldnt find a leak under the ultra violet light...they told me to have it regassed again so they could check for leaks straight away...so ive had to rebook it in...when i got home i put onmy glove and just pressed in the tyre like valve and gas escaped....im a bit baffled now as i thought there was a leak..any tips please...thanks..

First check the auxiliary drive belt that drives the compressor...

the thing is your aircon will stop working when the level of gas depletes to a certain level, The garage that regassed the aircon should have fitted die to the system so leaks could be checked in the future, but ultimately the system should not have been charged if there was no gas in the system in other words no gas = leak in system, what you need now is a pressure test with nitrogen to find where the leak is, NOT a recharge, depending on how long the aircon took to deplete would indicate how big a leak it has, soapy water is the best solution to find leaks but they can sometimes be a nightmare to find.

hi thanks again for your info ,ive just had the system pressure tested and the gauge didnt budge after ten minutes which suggests no leak. if there is one its very slight...anyway theyve regassed it again and we wait and wonder, the compresser kicked in ok and the condensor looks ok,if anything changes over the coming days then obviously it will go back in and it will be plan b,whatever that is!1 thanks
