Constantly putting oil in

2003 Vauxhall Zafira 1.8
Car: Vauxhall Zafira
Year: 2003
Variant: 1.8
Categories: Engine & Drivetrain
Since we purchased this car I dread to think of the amount of oil I have put in, I have to check at least every week. I have no black smoke and when it passed its mot guy at garage said not to worry hasn't affected emissions. Any ideas why I have to keep doing this.

If it's not leaking oil , it must be burning it .Could be valve stem oil seals but you usually get symptoms of blue smoke . Take it you ar using correct grade of oil ?
