Vauxhall Zafira initial loss of power on start up

The engine always starts first time whatever the weather. However, in recent weeks the car has very little power immediately after starting when cold. The engine revs at just over 1000rpm then after about 45 seconds the revs increase to 1200rpm and fall to about 900rpm. if I try to drive off within the first 45 seconds the revs fall dramatically on pressing the accelerator and the car struggles to move. After 45 seconds the car drives like new. Difficulty is that this only occurs when cold and if I take it to a garage the symptoms will only occur again after about 5 hours have passed!
Any ideas would be greatfully received.

my zafira seems to be doin the same thing, but intermitantly,
ive taked to a few people they say coil pack or air flow sensor.
but to me these dont make sense as it only happens when cold.
would appreciate it you find out anything could you let me know.

The problem persisted and eventually the car started to misfire at speed and the management light came on. I tried the pedal code trick and got 2 fault codes 0710 and 0100 this relates to the air flow meter and the lamda sensor.. I bought a cheap new air flow meter from ebay (£27) and fitted it. The car drives like new now. more power, no misfire and starts ready to drive off imediately. Only prblem is the management light stays on and I'm still getting the same fault codes. However, the car drives like a new one. Probably need a tech 2 to remove the codes ?? Any ideas greatfully received.
