2004 Vauxhall Vivaro loss of power

Car: Vauxhall Vivaro
Year: 2004
Variant: 1.9
Categories: Running Rough, Starting & Power Loss
Van is very slow/sluggish until revs get up to about 2500/3000 then accelerates fine. When driving all ok then engine management/glow light comes on and power drops away and am unable to accelerate, but if I stop the vehicle and then drive off all ok until light comes on again. Have recently noticed this happening when I try to accelerate up an incline.
Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Many thanks.

I HAVE A SIMILAR PROBLEM WITH MY VIVARO. I CAN START THE ENGINE BUT IT WON’T ACCELERATE, I HAVE TO USE THE PRIMING PUMP WHILST THE THROTTLE IS FULLY DEPRESS UNTIL THE ENGINE PICKS UP, I CAN THEN USE THE THROTTLE OK, THERE IS LOSS OF POWER ALSO WHEN DRIVING BUT THROTTLE WORKS FINE UNTIL I STOP THE VAN. I HAVE TO DO THE SAME PROCEDURE AGAIN WHEN STARTING THE ENGINE AGAIN. ANY ADVICE WOULD HELP.
