was ecu reset after items replaced?was there an engine man light on as the engine may be in limp home mode which governs the rpm to protect the engine when cirtain codes are stored

boost pressure sensor, mounted by the battery one has 1 vacumn pipe on,the other sensor next to it has 2 hoses which is the inlet boost sensor they cost about £40 each does it seem like you have no turbo working if so this is the problem

i had a mass air flow replaced & when the mechanic reset the codes & started the van up it sounded like "the only way i can discribe is a bag of hammers being thrown around" he thought it could be cam belt pulley ? so he got a cam belt kit & replaced that, still no good. it sounds absolutley terrible. as for the power issue thats resolved, but it now sounds like an old tractor, any sugestions please ?

I have just solved the problem with my Vivaro doing the same thing as yours, 2800 revs it was banging and smoking, and undrivable over 40mph without the glowplug light comming on.

The solution for me involves the Turbo vacuum pump, (The windscreen washer type thing with 2 rubber pipes connected to it)

I have had 4 fitted so far, they last a while then the problem starts again , Yesterday I had another one fitted, The van is perfect again.

I was sitting talking to the mechanic and I had the faulty unit in my hand, I twisted the cap on the bottom of the unit, It came off, it reveled a filter sponge, Obviously this was the intake filter for the pump

I squeezed over a teaspoon of water out of the bloody thing.

I still have 2 of the changed ones and they are both corroded inside,
This has been the problem all along

I have made a ally cap to cover the unit and will now try to find out where the water was coming from

To think we were going to send the ECU away for testing,

Hope this helps
