Hi I have a 2013 vivaro. Van starts on the button every morning, but as the day goes along, it becomes harder to start. All the usual symptons are there, but if its in gear and I engage the starter the van will lurch forward. My question is, would it not do this if the starter was faulty

If lurching forward as you describe , all cars do this .Only if the starter was not engaging the flywheel and turning the engine would it not .
