I have a vauxhall vivaro 2013. Yesterday I got a warning light message to say injection fault stop. Unfortunately I was on a hill and no where to pull over until the bottom. However while coasting down the hill in nuteral. It came up with oil pressure fault.
The engine was rattling like a bag of spanners. When I pulled over at the bottom of hill the engine made a clung noise and stalled.

When the van was pushed forward to get it off road completely there was a large amount of black oil on road and a trail to where we pushed it to. It was literally pouring out of the back of the engine.

Can anyone advise if this is possibly repairable or new engine?

Sounds ominous .You will have to locate where the oil is leaking from first , It may be from the cyl block or even as simple as a oil pressure switch . But with engine rattle , not looking good , but may be due to lack of oil .Case of maybe adding oil to see where leaking from and whether engine runs rattle free temporarily or starts o.k to check .

Thanks
It won't start just turns over, the rattle us still there when it turns over.

Could it be timing chain

Timing chain has a hydraulic tensioner so if no oil , chain will possibly be loose and jumped at least . Really hard to say what damage without checking / dismantling .
