2006 Vauxhall Vivaro when front light dipped the rear lights go off. when driving on parking lights the rear lights come on!!!

When the front lights are switched on, not on full beam, but normal light, the rear lights do not switch on, nor do the dashboard light come on.
One fiddles little with the light paddle switch and, the dashboard light comes on but the main front light gets switched off!!!
Please help

Sounds like an issue with the stalk switch or connections to it,can you manipulate the switch to make the fault happen ?,if so replace it.
