2008 Vauxhall Vivaro stiff gear selection

Variant: 2900 115
Not so much stiff, gear fork travel along the gear selector shaft moving the gear selector synchro hub not smooth , was contemplating oil change as i know that others have had similar problems and probably why on this model it stipulates fully synthetic 5/30 oil

Hiya No, I haven't stripped it down , I can just feel that it's struggling pushing the synchro hub along the 1 st motion shaft, so i thought I would ask to see if anyone else had, had the problem, a bit weird as it's only done 4k since the oil change." gear fork travel along the gear selector shaft moving the gear selector synchro hub not smooth

Tbh I'm too old and no longer have the facilities to tackle it.

No disrespect but I think you are getting a little confused on grade of g/box oil , and the fact that the synchro hub does not slide on the 1st motion shaft .

Apparently the oil does the engine and gearbox on this model. And it takes 7 litres.
Gearboxes on earlier models are separate, and the oil is 5/40
