2005 Vauxhall Vivaro fuel gauge flashing full then empty

Hi, my fuel gauge is electronic and the light is flashing full then empty constantly with the emergency fuel light staying on constantly. It's a pain as I have to guess how much fuel is in the vehicle. Has anyone come across this before and if so how much would a garage charge to fix this. Cheers Tim in Swansea

Faulty sender unit or wiring.
Bad news is to get it out the tank has to come out.
