Hi got this vivaro van runs fine through gears.but when i go to pull off has a slow hesistation then when turbo kicks in sound. Right ive done full service now i looked at mass air flow meter and ive noticed if i unplug it my engine stalls.should it stall telling me its working fine or is it faulty. Also when i start it first thing in morning it stutters on reving up and light blue smoke out back and smell of diesel fumes. .also really heavy on fuel checked all brakes and tyre presres and fine. Also checked boost pipes and those small pipes which 2 of them go to a solinoid cliped to the passenger side inner wing by ecu.but i heard it making a buzzing noise when i grab it and shake it i can here things rattling around inside it so dont know if faulty could this be the problem.any help would be great

1st off that little thing that "buzzes"
is the turbo boost pressure control solenoid.
the pipes supply vacuum from the vac pump,
the ecu switches the solenoid on which then supplies vacuum to the turbo actuator,
no vacuum at the actuator means no turbo as the default position is turbo off,
right next to this solenoid is the turbo pressure sensor,
single pipe.
probably the one that rattles on yours,
not a good sign.
So from the sounds of it your has incorrect turbo boost control.
This wont account for the starting symptoms as when starting the turbo is OFF,
Now as for the AFM unplugging when running WILL cause stall but you should be able to unplug it before you start it and the ecu will substitute a memory value and it should run.
if there's a difference in running after this then suspect the AFM.
But these can be complex buggers to diagnose and you really need to start with a code scan then check the live data.
I suspect you have a leaking injector so an injector leak back test would be next.
Not doing these tests usually results in many new parts no better running and an empty wallet.
Spend cash on the tests FIRST.
I've had these in with many new parts fitted and frustrated owners who went down the same road as you.
SCAN IT!!!!
