HAVE GOT CHATTER/RATTLE NOISE & WHINING ON ACCELERATION PLUS OVER RUN IN ALL GEARS EXCEPT 1ST GEAR , WHINING STARTED AT 7400 MILES AND GETTING WORSE AT 12000 MILES TO DATE

Is it not still under warranty ? Hard to say without hearing it but could be DMF (dual mass flywheel) or gearbox bearings .

yes still under warranty vauxhall have said chatter noise is normal for this type of gearbox but deny that there is anything else wrong with it .

I was told the same thing but I suggest you change the gearbox oil my mate did and he says it made a difference
