Cutting out

2009 Vauxhall Vivaro 2.0 cdti
Car: Vauxhall Vivaro
Year: 2009
Variant: 2.0 cdti
Categories: Running Rough, Starting & Power Loss
i have spent a fortune on this van so far. It has only done 70k and it is falling to bits. I have just had a a new air flow meter fitted and now it keeps cutting out. When i drive it, the stop lights flash on and off. When i get up to 3k revs it wants to cut out, it is like some one has turned the ignition off. It ticks over perfectly and sounds good, but if you drive it, it feels low on power and jumps about. it does not smoke at all and there are no worrying noises.. Can anyone help??????????

I took it to a garage today and the chap said i have a wiring issue.
I have recently had a clutch fitted and he recons they have disturbed the loom. He is having it in on Friday to check the loom. It has got worse today because it is now getting difficult to start but ticks over sweet as a nut when running. When i try and pull away it becomes very juddery and pulls back. It has lost some power and feels like the turbo has packed up. I know the turbo is fine because it is not smoking a bit, and it ticks over perfectly so i Know the injectors are fine. The codes coming up are open circuit on no3 injector, and mass air flow meter. So come friday i am hoping it will be just a wiring issue (haha, just a wiring issue) and he can fix it. He has a special scanner that can pick out a break in the loom which he has told me works. He has just done one of these last week so fingures crossed. Will defo put results on here for you guys.

Well i took it to the garage and check all the wiring and found no fault at all. The scanner has now come up with injector no 3 and injector no 1 open circuit. i have just ordered 2 x new injectors at a cost of £200 each. We are having problems though getting the old ones out. I knew it would be this as they are so prone to it. Renault are doing a recall on thiers but Vauxhall are ignoring it....

Got my vivaro (54 plate, 70k miles)fixed today after after many attempts to find problem with cutting out between 2k and 3k. have had a lot of parts changed. The problem was a split in a wire at the underside of the loom coming from the fuse box. The machinic was moving the loom which caused the engine to cut out. luckily a spark appeared on one of the wires which digonosed which wire it was. Over the moon to have my van back without guddering or cutting out. Hope this helps

Try taking off your Turbo boost sensor, The pump like unit with 2 pipes connected, Unscrew the bottom cap

Bet you will find water in the sponge filter , Squeese/ Dry it out refit and all could be fine again

Good Luck
