2005 Vauxhall Vivaro hard to start down on power

to start the van i have to remove the air filter and spray easy start down the air intake and turn the key at the same time.this next bit may not be related as it has been on going for a little time now .that sead.it is become moor of a problem.wen driving around town low rpm all seams to be fine.on dule carage way the power loss is more aparant.having to down change on inclines.doing a hill start needs moor rpm than it used to.At 2500rpm I used to feel a serge of power.that seems all but gon.In short down on power using moor fule [derv]and hard to start ..CAN YOU HELP..

Sounds like poor compression. Using easy start for prolonged periods is not good as it washes the cylinder bores removing lubrication. The problem just gets worse the more you use it. You need to get each cylinder compression tested.

When was the last time the diesel filter was changed?
After that it's down to live data code reading,to be specific.what's is your fuel pressure.
Can be a bit of a problem these,by far the best route is a good code read and full live data.
You can get into deep water changing parts at random,seventy pounds or so to Vaux will save you time and money.
I've seen these with over a K spent to no good effect at repair before I got to them and found the fault.
You really need the right diagnostic software.
