vehicle has a histry which may have some baring on problem (wiring etc). high milage 131033 miles.

Had a code read - 1826: heater plug circuit
1814: exhaust gas recircualtion function.

This is all i have at present, now im assuming these codes relate to RENAULT codes rather than vauxhall, so working mainly on 1814 as she start with out problems, any common issues or what to llok for on the egr ? all views greatly appreiated, and once resolved - details posted, cheers andy

Take out the egr and make sure the disc is still on the end of it,they can become detatched,ie fall of into the manifold.
Usual carbon fouling problem with these.
and check all pipes including the 6mm ones to the manifold presure sensor and turbo solenoid.
But a lot of the time,as you state, wiring shorts can give wierd codes, buy no parts until faulty unit is confirmed by testing.
