2000 Vauxhall Vectra indicator lights come on and stay on when ignition is turned off

my battery was dead so had it jump started, after this the indicator lights came on and stayed on even though the car was turned off and the key removed from the ignition...so I got a brand new battery and put that in but the problem persists...had to disconnect the battery to get the lights to turn off...
help desperately required

Check hazard light switch , push on /off a few times .
