2006 Vauxhall Vectra electronics resetting

Car: Vauxhall Vectra
Year: 2006
Variant: 1.8 LS
Categories: Running Rough, Starting & Power Loss
Reversed car out of driveway, it promptly cut-out and won't start again.

When I turn the ignition on now, the radio constantly resets every 4-5 seconds; the car appears immobilised and the won't lock with the key-fob any more either.

When I lock the car, the front two locks seem to engage, the back two don't move though, and because of them the car unlocks itself again.

The alarm seems to go off every so often too when I'm just sitting in the car, the key fob will disable it.

I'm guessing some kind of short is causing the engine management to reset itself after a few seconds. Any thoughts how I can best analyse this?

There are no fault indicators on the dashboard, however the interior light seems to flicker slightly now.

Is your battery o.k and not run down ? Could test that or try charging / jump start .
