2006 Vauxhall Vectra boot lock not working

Car: Vauxhall Vectra
Year: 2006
Categories: Electrics, ECU, Warnings & Lights
The electric boot lock has stopped working unless the boot lid is open a few inches. This means I can't unlock the boot using the button.

I've replaced the motor unit, but still have the same problem.

Any ideas?

Cant understand what you mean " unless the boot lid is open a few inches. This means I can't unlock the boot using the button. " If boot lid already open then it's unlocked .

Yes. there is power going to the lock, as it works when the boot lid is raised a few inches.

The motor only works when the boot lid is in a certain position - approx 3-4 inches open. If the boot lid is closed, the motor doesn't work. If the boot is open more than that, again the motor doesn't work.

possibly a broken wire somewhere, the fact that it works when open an not shut, maybe when shut the wire is not making contact, difficult to find tho
