2002 Vauxhall Vectra oil light on while driving

the oil light was flickering so i checked the oil level and that was ok but did notice a slight decrease when checked again after driving 12 miles, now the light stays on when driving any clues?

i would recommend testing/replacing the engine oil pressure sender switch.

right! now when driving iam getting white/blue smoke? from the exhaust,and the engine seems to be very tappity if u know what i mean? all i can see at the moment is the dreaded££££££££ sign? any clues on this one.?????
