EML started coming on about a three months ago. Vx garage tested it with computer and said the problem was the inlet manifold sensor and would cost £330+ to fix. I didn't get it fixed and everything was fine until yeserday when the EML came on again and engine stopped on four occasions. Local garage tested it with computer and said problem was EGR and would cost £220+ to fix.

Checked on the internet and Vx EM problems seem to be a nightmare to diagnose.

Any idea what the problem might be? Should I get these repairs done?

Thanks
Berty

dont hold me to this but im sure that vauxhall do a egr valve blank gasket for the vectra diesels so it would be worth enquiring at the dealers failing that this egr problem is common through out the vauxhall range so you are not alone as replacing it now would cure it but the problem will just come back again and again and again

Does blocking off the EGR put the turbo at risk of damage?
