2002 Vauxhall Vectra engine light on dash comes on

I bought the car recently and it drives well but after driving 10 to fifteen miles the light engine management comes on , sometimes it flashes and then stops, I had a friend at the garage check it and he reset the code P1650 service light malfunction it drove for a couple of days then came on again, can you help please
